Empowering Women
We are clothing manufacturers with a difference.
We provide trafficking survivors and other at risk and vulnerable workers in Cambodia with training, support and safe employment in our ethical and sustainable factory.
We aim to disrupt the global clothing manufacturing model where thousands of workers are forced into unsafe, overcrowded workplaces to mass produce low quality garments, worn for a season and tossed.

This large scale “take make discard” model is not ethical for workers, nor sustainable for the planet. Instead, we are creating a network of small, localised digitally enabled sewing hubs with 30-50 workers each supporting a team of outworkers sewing from home in neighbouring communities. All producing quality garments, adopting good environmental practices and paying workers a living wage.

This means we take time to understand our staff, their hopes, dreams and struggles. We give them the training they need to build their strengths and we provide opportunities for them to exercise those strengths in the workplace. For this reason, we have budgeted for a pastoral care support worker on staff to provide individualised support.

Meet the Team
Our Executive Team
Karine is a 35-year veteran of the garment trade experienced in fabric technology, garment construction, sourcing, patternmaking, design and production management. She has worked with well known Australian brands such as Country Road, Jag, SportsGirl, Kookai, Scanlan &Theodore, and Siren Shoes. She was a lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Creative Industries precinct for three years and has had her own fashion and footwear labels. Since 2008, Karine has run her own garment engineering business, freelancing to companies with social enterprise interests. She was contracted as a volunteer to set up the Cambodian sewing centre in 2016.
Liz is a serial entrepreneur, who founded 3 ladies fitness centres, and has owned and managed strategy consultancies in 2 countries over the last 22 years serving large corporates She now works with for-purpose organisations and social enterprises. She currently owns an ecommerce maternity activewear brand that works with the sewing centre because of its sustainable ethical manufacturing.
